Demos and Lectures

All Demonstrations and Lectures are Free and Open to the Public

Aug 30th 2pm: Demo - Susan Daly, will demonstrate the hand pulled process of monotypes using water based media. Savor the “Joy of Monotypes!” with Susan in her two-day workshop on Aug 31st & Sept 1st.

Aug 31st 2pm: Demo - Peter Spataro demonstrates his unique approach to acrylics, applying watercolor techniques to the medium. Join him for his workshop, “Plein Air Water Media Workshop” Sept 1-3.

Sept 4th time TBA: Lecture - Erik A. R. Ronnberg Jr., renowned New England ship model artist, will speak about his art. Past Editor of the Nautical Research Journal and consultant to the South Street Seaport Museum in Manhattan, the multi-talented Ronnberg has also produced watercolors collected by the Peabody Essex Museum and superlative shadowbox displays done in the 19th century tradition of scale half-models set in a recessed, perspective format.

Sept 12th 2pm: Lecture - Charlotte Wharton, award winning artist and instructor will speak on how she applies the language of artistic energy to her art and teaching style. Charlotte Wharton’s workshop “Luscious Figurative Interiors” is held Sept 18-20.

Oct 24th 1:30pm: Restoration & Assessment Consulting – Join artists Roy Blankenship & Lois Showalter during their solo exhibit in the Gordon Grant Room for an afternoon of consultation on your painting treasures. Visitors may bring in one painting for Roy Blankenship, fellow of AIC & CIPP since 1973, to give restoration advice and consult on value assessment.
